How to un-archive your eSIM

To un-archive your eSIM, you’ll need to re-enable or re-install it if it was previously deactivated, archived, or removed. Here’s how to do it on both iPhone and Android devices:

On iPhone:

  1. Open Settings:
    • Go to the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Go to Cellular (or Mobile Data):
    • Scroll down and tap on Cellular (or Mobile Data in some regions).
  3. Check Archived eSIM:
    • If your eSIM has been archived or removed, it might appear in the Cellular Plans section, though not active. If your eSIM is archived but still listed here:
      • Tap on the eSIM plan and toggle Turn On This Line to re-enable it.
  4. Reinstall eSIM (if not listed):
    • If your eSIM is not listed, you may need to reinstall it:
      • Go back to Settings > Cellular > Add Cellular Plan.
      • Use your QR code or activation code from your provider to reinstall the eSIM.
  5. Contact Your Carrier (if necessary):
    • If you no longer have access to the original QR code or activation details, contact your eSIM provider to retrieve a new activation code or QR code.

On Android (Google Pixel, Samsung, etc.):

  1. Open Settings:
    • Open the Settings app on your Android device.
  2. Go to Network & Internet:
    • Tap on Network & Internet.
  3. Manage SIMs:
    • Select SIMs or SIM Card Manager.
  4. Enable the eSIM:
    • If the eSIM is listed but deactivated, select the archived eSIM and toggle it on to re-enable it.
  5. Reinstall eSIM (if not listed):
    • If the eSIM has been completely removed, reinstall it:
      • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network.
      • Tap + Add Mobile Plan (or Add eSIM).
      • Scan the QR code or enter the activation code from your provider.
  6. Contact Carrier for Activation Details (if needed):
    • If the eSIM profile is no longer available, reach out to your eSIM provider to obtain a new activation code or QR code for reinstallation.

General Tips:

  • Archived eSIMs can sometimes be re-enabled by simply turning them back on in your SIM management settings.
  • If your eSIM was deleted or removed, you may need the original activation details to restore it.
  • If you’re having trouble recovering the eSIM, your carrier can help by reissuing the eSIM or activation code.

By following these steps, you should be able to un-archive or restore your eSIM and use it again for mobile data, calls, and texts.
