How do I install eSIM on an Honor device?
To install an eSIM on your Honor device, follow these steps. Keep in mind that not all Honor devices support eSIM, so ensure your specific model does before proceeding.
1. Ensure Your Honor Device Supports eSIM
- Check if your Honor device is compatible with eSIM. Only select newer models like the Honor Magic 3 series and newer devices offer eSIM functionality.
- Make sure your device has the latest software update to support eSIM features.
2. Obtain eSIM Activation Details
- You’ll need the QR code or activation code provided by your eSIM provider (such as JetSIM, Airalo, or your mobile carrier).
3. Install the eSIM
Steps to Install:
- Open Settings:
- Open the Settings app on your Honor device.
- Go to Mobile Network:
- Scroll down and select Mobile Network or Network & Internet, depending on your Honor device’s UI version.
- Tap on SIM Management (or SIM settings):
- In Mobile Network settings, look for the SIM Management or SIM settings section.
- Add eSIM:
- Tap Add Mobile Plan or Add eSIM.
- Your Honor device will prompt you to scan a QR code or enter an activation code manually.
- Scan the QR Code:
- Use your camera to scan the QR code provided by your eSIM provider.
- Alternatively, select the option to Enter details manually if you have an activation code instead of a QR code.
- Install the eSIM:
- After scanning the QR code or entering the details, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the eSIM installation.
- Your Honor device will download the eSIM profile and activate it.
4. Activate eSIM for Data and Calls
- After installation, go back to Settings > Mobile Network > SIM Management.
- Select your newly installed eSIM and toggle on Mobile Data for that eSIM.
- If you’re using both a physical SIM and eSIM, set the eSIM as the preferred SIM for data, calls, and SMS if you want to use it as your main line.
5. Enable Data Roaming (if Traveling Internationally)
- If you are using the eSIM while traveling abroad, ensure Data Roaming is enabled.
- Go to Settings > Mobile Network > Data Roaming and toggle it ON.
6. Switch Between SIMs (if using multiple SIMs)
- If you have both a physical SIM and eSIM installed, you can manage them through the SIM Management settings:
- Set the Preferred SIM for mobile data, calls, and messages.
- You can toggle between the eSIM and physical SIM depending on your needs.
7. Monitor Data Usage
- Keep an eye on your eSIM data usage to avoid exceeding your plan limits. Go to Settings > Mobile Network > Data Usage to monitor your data consumption.
Once installed and activated, your eSIM should be fully functional for mobile data, calls, and text services on your Honor device.
